On this week’s show we have two guests who are front and center of Green Teams in health care.
Dr. Joan D. Plisko of Maryland Hospitals for a Healthy Environment (MD H2E) – a grant funded initiative housed at the University of Maryland School of Nursing. Dr. Plisko has received several awards, including the the EPA Region 3 Award for Environmental Achievement.
Colleen Cusick is the co-founder and current chair of the Green Team for The Johns Hopkins Hospital. Her role in the green team includes consulting with manufacturers on product development, packaging improvements, and product safety.
The enormous interest in Green Teams made us consider this as a two part series. We set the stage last week on the show with what they look like from those managing facilities. This week, we’ll address what the structure of a Green team looks like, and ask our guests about the roles team members play.
